“Investavimas 2026“ Conference Review: Navigating Uncertainty in a Changing Investment Landscape

On May 12, Verslo žinios hosted the live conference “Investavimas 2026”, with Finora Bank among the main partners. This event brought together nearly twenty finance and investment professionals to discuss how the current investment environment is changing.

From geopolitical instability and shifting macroeconomic trends to portfolio construction and emerging investment tools, the conference explored how investors are adapting to a less predictable market landscape.

Alongside broader market discussions, the conference agenda also focused on personal finance, long-term wealth creation, and the principles that help investors stay resilient during periods of uncertainty.

Building Wealth: Why Discipline Matters More Than Chasing the Highest Returns

According to Dovydas Asanavičius, Chief Investor Relations Officer at Finora Bank, successful investing is less about chasing the perfect market opportunity and more about consistency, discipline, and sustainable financial habits.

While investment discussions often revolve around portfolio optimization and market timing, Asanavičius argues that long-term wealth creation ultimately depends on more fundamental priorities.

“The first is increasing income. The higher your income, the greater your capacity to invest. The second is setting a clear savings rate and sticking to it consistently. With a realistic investment plan built around a few clear principles, compound interest eventually becomes the key driver of long-term results,” he says.

Asanavičius also stressed the importance of regular, preferably automated investing. In his view, choosing low-cost investment solutions and minimizing emotionally driven decisions are among the most effective ways to avoid common long-term investing mistakes.

Professional Investors on Capital Allocation and Shifting Market Dynamics

The second half of the conference focused on the perspectives of professional investors and asset managers navigating today’s increasingly fragmented economic environment.

Speakers examined a range of investment instruments — including equities, bonds, ETFs, and P2P lending — assessing their opportunities and risks in today’s market environment. Discussions also explored the growing role of artificial intelligence in investment decision-making, as well as the evolving outlook for real estate investments.

A panel discussion moderated by Dovydas Asanavičius featured Rasa Platūkienė, Head of Trading at the Bank of Lithuania, and Deimantė Korsakaitė, Managing Partner at the “Invalda INVL” group.

Some of the key takeaways from the discussion included the importance of understanding market narratives, diversifying risk, and maintaining a disciplined long-term investment approach.

The panel also highlighted how the end of the “cheap money” era is reshaping private capital strategies, with growth increasingly driven by long-term value creation.
